Chezaré fait ses premiers pas sur scene en 199 avec “ Screaming Target”, trio énergétique londonien conceptualisé par le vidéaste Don Letts..(Punk attitude, Dreads no Dead…) dont les musiciens font partie du Big audio Dynamite groupe légendaire et avant-gardie du guitariste Mick Jones (Clash) Chezere rencontre ensuite le groupe " Urban Species ” et participe.à l’élaboration du hit “ Listen ” avec MC Solar en featuring créant cet univers intime propre à ce hit.

Ces deux groupes lui donne l’opportunité de voyager dans le monde et Chezaré a l’occasion de chanter lors de tournées inoubliables dans les plus grands festivals d’Europe dont le « Glastonbury Festival » et le « Phoenix Festival » en Angleterre, le « Roskilde Festival » au Danemark et le « Nice Jazz Festival » en France entraînant et haranguant la foule de centaines au millier d’auditeurs. Cette expérience extraordinaire lui donne les moyens et l’opportunité de mettre en valeur ces grands talents de vocaliste.

Ainsi démarre sa carrière solo. Elle signe avec « Delabel » du groupe Virgin France, nous pouvons découvrir une des multiples facettes de sa personnalité musicale avec son 1er LP « Upfront and Personal” soit un mixe de funk, de soul et de rock avec Derrick Mackenzie et Stuart Zender batteur et bassiste de Jamiroquai et Simon Hale d’Incognito et Galliano…

Le magazine Vogue français écrit : « Si Lenny Kravitz et Neneh Cherry avaient un enfant, ils l’appelleraient Chezeré… ” Lenny Kravitz en personne a voulu rencontrer Chezeré pour lui dire qu’il n’aimait pas sa musique mais qu’il l’adorait ! Les “ Roots ”, qui un jour ont ouvert le show pour "Urban Species" lui demande d’assurer les voix pour leur tournée : « Things Fall Apart tour throughout” en Europe, chantant en solo leur hit “You Got Me”.

Chezere a aussi travaillé avec le fantastique groupe d’acid-jazz japonais UFO (United Future Organization) sur “ Friends (We’ll Be)” sur leur 3rd Prospective album…Jazzanova a tellement apprécié le titre qu’ils effectués un remixe qui est toujours d’actualité dans le monde, en ecoute dans tous les bars Lounge branchés du moment.

Depuis l’origine, l’ « House Music » fait partie de sa vie musicale et quand no Roy Davis Jr remixe le single “Where Does Your Mind Go?” du LP “Upfront and Personal”. Le titre rentre dans les charts « club ».

C’est le Top five des « world’s dance chart » avec Ernest St Laurent. “We Are One”. C’est à Paris que vienne frapper à sa porte Bob Sinclar de Yellow Productions et « The Troublemen » de KIF Records. DJ Mark Grant avec le single “Hey You” à Chicago « The Core » avec « Olive Records » ou elle s’investit sur le projet. Chezeré est une « reine » en perpetuel renouvellement.

Los Angeles est sa nouvelle ville où elle continue à travailler sur de nouveaux projets.

Chezere’s career kicked off when she was given the opportunity to be the vocalist for Big Audio Dynamites’ second band “Screaming Target” and the experience won’t have easily been forgotten, as she has a seemingly insatiable energy that is only satiated by the call of the stage.

Not long after her time with Target was over, Chezere would lend her skills to another London sound, Urban Species, creating even more of a buzz for herself…

Both bands gave her the opportunity to travel the world… She has played some of the biggest festivals in Europe such as Glastonbury Festival in England, The Phoenix Festival in England, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and the Nice Jazz Festival in France entertaining crowds from the hundreds to the tens of thousands….the experience she gained whilst being a part of both Target and Species; along with the experiences of working with numerous projects was invaluable as well as the catalyst for her first solo effort…

“Upfront…and Personal”, a project three years in the making…was Chezere’s debut album. Not only did it contain every ounce of her funk, soul and rock style within the songs, it also contained a collaboration of her musical black book…Derrick McKenzie and Stuart Zender who were the drummer and bass player for Jamiroquai, respectively…Simon Hale…members from Incognito and Galliano…”Upfront…”, which was put out by the French Virgin label, Delabel, left an impression on every ear that came in contact with it…French Vogue was quoted as saying, “…if Lenny Kravitz and Nenah Cherry had a child, it would be called Chezere…” Lenny Kravitz himself demanded to meet Chezere to let her know that he did not like her music, he loved her music!

The Roots, who were once an opening act for Urban Species, asked her to lend her vocals on their Things Fall Apart tour throughout Europe; singing their signature song “You Got Me”.

Chezere also teamed up with Japan’s UFO (United Future Organization) to do “Friends (We’ll Be)” on their 3rd Prospective album…The German master re-mixers Jazzanova liked the song so much they decided to add their own magic to it; to this day, the song remains popular and you can catch her sultry tones in nearly every lounge and bar that plays cool beats around the world.

“House Music” is a part of Chezere and has been since the early days of the scene, so it came as no surprise when Roy Davis Jr. remixed her single “Where Does Your Mind Go?” from “Upfront…and Personal”. The song was an instant club hit. Then she dropped “We Are One” with Ernest St Laurent. Making it to the top five in some of the world’s dance charts…Paris couldn’t get enough of her and soon she had Bob Sinclar of Yellow Productions and The Troublemen of KIF Records knocking on her door; and keeping up the heat, it was on to DJ Mark Grant and the single “Hey You” in Chicago. Then she collaborated with Olive Records and brought out her own project “The Core”…you can even get one of her songs as a ring tone!
